About the Recipe
A classic Manhattan is a must do cocktail to master which is easy to do!
Ingredients
2 oz Rye (or Bourbon)
¾ -1 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 Dashes of Regular and Orange Bitters each
Cocktail spoon of Luxardo cherry juice
Preparation
Add ice cubes and ingredients to a glass cocktail mixer and stir while holding the top of the mixer so not to heat the liquid up. Strain into glass. Twist an orange peel over the drink and look for the drink surface to “pop” with the citrus oil.
The amount of sweetness of the cocktail is handled in two ways. Bourbon is sweeter than Rye as it is corn vs rye. If you want it sweeter use bourbon and if you still want it more sweeter, use 1 oz (or more) of sweet vermouth. I prefer rye which is not overly sweet, and I use ¾ or so of sweet vermouth.
